Teach Nutrition Awards

Our Awards Program Is Retiring – But Wait till You See What We’re Cooking Up!

For over a decade, the Teach Nutrition Awards supported the creative nutrition education initiatives of Ontario teachers, recognizing that educators play a critical role in helping students to learn about healthy eating and to develop skills for eating well for life.

Between 2007 and 2017, up to 100 Teach Nutrition Awards of $100 each were presented annually during Nutrition Month (March) to teachers from kindergarten to grade 12 in recognition of their original and engaging ideas for teaching nutrition.

The Teach Nutrition Awards have now retired. Thank you to our partners and all the educators who made them a success over the past 11 years.

So, what’s next?

We’re cooking up something big! Together with our partners, Dietitians of Canada, the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario and the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association, we look forward to supporting nutrition education in schools in a whole new way. Stay tuned for more information on an exciting initiative starting in 2018/19 that will help educators enhance students’ food skills and food literacy.
